Starting salary: Dependent on experience and training certificates, plus standby allowance and call out

 

Package: 45 hours per week, defined contribution pension scheme, 24 day’s annual leave rising to a maximum of 28 days per year

 

Job description:

 

Our network teams provide a vital service helping to ensure we supply water and provide sewerage services to our 2.8 million customers, and we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join the team.

As one of our repair and maintenance (R&M) supply team leaders you'll be working in a two-person team within utilities, carrying out repairs and maintenance to the supply distribution network, making sure that they meet quality and customer service standards.

This will involve repairing burst water mains and service leaks, and providing an out of hours' standby service on a rota basis. The role includes excavation work by hand or by mechanical means.

You'll be working within a great team, outdoors, in all environments, dealing with different challenges every day and providing a vital service to our customers.

This role is regional across our supply network operating from our Taunton depot so is best suited to candidates living in the surrounding area but consideration will be given to those living further away.

We're looking for someone with a positive and can-do attitude who is well-organised, customer-focused and a great team player.

You will need:


* A valid driving licence (B+ E).
* A current street-works ticket (NRSWA) - training can be provided.
* Health and safety awareness.
* Previous experience of working as part of an Repair and Maintenance team or for a utility company or equivalent.
*Mechanical excavator qualification and competence advantageous.
*Knowledge of underground services and plant.
* EUSR hygiene certificate (ideal but not essential).

It is important to understand that you will require a flexible approach to working hours and out of hours working.
